Exploring a new city is always exciting. The landmarks, the local attractions, and the bustling entertainment options are just a few things that make New Orleans a top destination for visitors, but by far the culinary scene in this special city sets it apart from all others. With a geographical location that makes seafood a shining star on every menu, it isn’t always easy to know where to go for the day’s best catch. Well, search no further! GW Fins restaurant in New Orleans is where it’s at. But don’t just take our word for it. The OpenTable Diner’s Choice Awards recently awarded GW Fins: Best Overall, Best Food, Best Service, Best Value, and Most Booked (February 2020).
Where Nature Writes the Menu
Locally owned by Gary Wollerman (who oversees the ever-evolving Award-Winning Wine Program) and Chef Tenney Flynn (who was recently referred to as “the fishmonger czar of the South” by the Wall Street Journal), GW Fins restaurant in New Orleans has set itself apart. Working everyday with trusted purveyors from local and international regions, their chefs are able to ensure that all seafood is served at its seasonal peak. Not only does this create a menu bursting with natural flavors and exquisite textures, but it imposes a sustainable seafood market (which ensures your conscience will enjoy your meal as well). With chefs that are truly masters of their craft, they implement their keen butchering skills on refrigerated countertops to ensure the day’s fresh catch remains cold and optimally fresh.
Because the tides of the seas are always changing, so is the menu at GW Fins. A new menu is printed every day, highlighting the fresh ingredients that inspire their expert chefs. While a very wide variety of seafood is prepared in many different ways, don’t let that deter the red meat lovers or the vegetarians. There is something for everyone at GW Fins in New Orleans, with a menu that allows you to customize with your favorite sides and dare we say, favorite desserts. Best of all, their staff is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to selecting a beverage that will compliment your food selection, be it from their worldly wine list or one of their specialty cocktails.
